| Objective To
observe the effect of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) on
the expression of procollagen and TGF-β of rat pulmonary fibroblasts(PFbs).Methods Northern
blot analysis and immunohistochemistry were used.Results Both mRNA and
protein expression of type I, III procollagen were enhanced after TGF-β1
treatment.The signal of TGF-β mRNA and the positive staining of TGF-β were also detected
after TGF-β1 treatment.Conclusion TGF-β1 could
enhance the synthesis of type Ⅰ procollagen, type Ⅲ procollagen and TGF-β itself in
PFbs.Therefore, it was considered that the autocrine secretion of TGF-β of pulmonary
interstitial cells acted as one of the key roles to cause the progressive development of
pulmonary fibrosis. |
